In response to questions about the Tory ad for a candidate in the Kingston Whig Standard, it was rerun beside a front page story on May 9 by Brock Harrison. The ad ran in the paper on April 18 on page 14, lumped in with car ads, mortgage ads etc. The ad is headed: The Progressive Conservative Party of Kingston and the Islands and it continues "Would like to hear from people interested in running on May 29, 2007 for nomination of The Progressive Conservative Party Candidate in the upcoming election in the province of Ontario, scheduled for October 10, 2007. Please reply to Box #2163."
This from a city that for 42 consecutive years sent Tories to Queen's Park. Kingston, once a bastion of Tory support - how the mighty have fallen.
It ain't easy being John Tory. Mike Harris, Steven Harper, Randy Hillier, Frank Klees, Bob Runciman, no policies, and now they have to advertise for candidates in Kingston. How many times a day do you think John wishes he was back at Rogers?
