Nice win by Glen Pearson and an excellent showing by Elaine May in the London Byelection on Nov 27. It's foolish to read much into a byelection but a win is always better than a loss.
If the byelection means anything it probably means:
1. Canadians are fed up with negative Nellie's, negative campaigning, and the bashing of individuals and groups.
2. The New Democrats have past their best-before date. Bob Rae got it right when he said Knee Dippers practice the politics of protest and punishment. How weary, stale and unprofitable is the noise they are constantly making.
2. Canadians are beginning to forgive Liberals for the scandals
3. The Green Party is real and will be underestimated at the peril of mainline parties.
4. The Green Party is most likely to eat into NDP support - and the sooner the Greens put them out of their misery the better off we'll all be.
