This past week a dusty video stuck in a corner and overlooked by the PCs when they vacated the Opposition offices in Regina was played by the new residents of the Opposition members' offices in the Saskatchewan Legislature, the NDP.
On the tape were some virulent homophobic statements by Tom Lukiwski and Brian Wall, new premier of Saskatchewan.
The Liberals, Block and NDP have all been after Lukiwsi's hide, even though the remarks were made 16 years ago.
Thing is, folks, why the surprise? Under Preston Manning, comments of this ilk resulted in members being booted off the Party perch. Preston Manning may have have had some whacko right wing ideas but he was a gentleman who did not indulge in denigrating others but who insisted on all people being treated with dignity.
Prime Minister Puffy Harpoon is a different animal, an egomaniac scum bag and if you don't know or recognize that you need a keeper.
Harpoon waxed loud and long before the election about openness, fair play and all that bullshit - but since the election we are seeing the true Puffy. He has refused to investigate the role of Zaccardeli, the disgraced former head of the RCMP for blatant political interference with his deplorable statements about investigating Ralph Goodale. He is suing the Liberal Party in a blatant attempt to muzzle criticism. He has pushed the moronic Federal Finance Fool Jim Flawerty to wage war on Dalton McGuinty and Ontario's budget. And to make sure everyone gets the message, Harpoon himself has undermined confidence in Canada's industrial heartland by criticizing the province to an audience of New York bankers and financiers.
So let's not play surprised when Alliance MPs are caught making slurring remarks about gays and lesbians. It is what Alliance members think. It is a mindset that permeates their party and Harpoon has been pretty successful in using an iron fist to keep it mostly away from public scrutiny in the back rooms of their party. But you can't hide that stuff forever and as he chickens come home to roost it is instructive to watch this hypocritical bunch of bozos refuse to live up to the promises they made about new standards and new morality. The only thing different from the previous Liberal government is that the Alliance has added a layer of hypocrisy and lies.
So vote them out or let it be but please ... no more phony surprise when bastards are revealed to be bastards.

The Saskatchewan Party were in opposition, and occupied the Opposition offices in Regina, not the PC's. Please check your facts.

The consesus is that Tommy's apology is / was not enough.
Well let me suggest that instead of stripping him of his PS post, more could be accomplished with an educational approach and some sensitivity training. He should be appointed as John Baird's PS and be required to sit at John's side in the house just to keep check on his finger nails
